MAGDAS INDEX
Welcome to the MAGDAS INDEX Data Archives.
The MAGDAS INDEX Data Archives is open to public since April 2013
by the principal investigator, Prof. A. Yoshikawa, Kyushu University.
Supporting information:
This database was made by the financial supports of Japan Society
for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) as Grant-in-Aid for Publication
of Scientific Research Results(258032, 268022).
Pc5 index is calculated by using the MAGDAS/CPMN magnetometer realtime data and provided
this website. This index is intended to show quantitatively activities of Pc5 pulsation
at low latitude. This index enable to better understand the relationship between
Pc5 pulsation and solar wind velocity.
A new index, EE-index (EDst, EU, and EL), is proposed to monitor temporal and
long-term variations of the equatorial electrojet by using the MAGDAS/CPMN real-time data.
EDst is calculated by H component magnetic variations observed at the nightside stations along
the magnetic equatorial region, and has similar variation to Dst index. EU and EL show
the Equatorial Electrojet and Counter Electrojet components, respectively
*important* Rules for data usage
Scientists who want to engage in collaboration with SERC
should contact the project leader of MAGDAS/CPMN
observations, Prof. A. Yoshikawa, Kyushu Univ., who will
organize such collaborations.
There is a possibility that the PI of MAGDAS will arrange offers
so that there is less overlapping of themes between MAGDAS research groups
Before you use MAGDAS/CPMN data for your papers,
you must agree to the following points;
-
Before you submit your paper, you must contact the PI
(Prof. A. Yoshikawa: yoshikawa.akimasa.254 _at_ m.kyushu-u.ac.jp) and
discuss authorship.
-
When you submit your paper after doing the above item 1, you must mention
the source of the data in the acknowledgment section of your paper.
-
In general, you must use the following references:
